How long does CBD take to work?

CBD Oil Info

Very popular today, CBD is the new therapeutic alternative for everyday aches and pains. But then how do you know how long CBD takes effect?

The action of CBD on the body.

Many studies have been conducted on the action of CBD on the endocannabinoid system of our body. Indeed this system plays a central role in maintaining the internal balance of the body: it will come in particular to regulate its physiological mechanisms, and actively participates in many functions, such as pain, sleep, or even the anxiety.

Effects that vary depending on the mode of administration.

Be aware that depending on the mode of administration of CBD, the time of assimilation by the body will not be the same and can therefore vary enormously.

By sublingual route.

This is one of the quickest and most effective ways to fully experience the benefits of CBD. Nothing could be simpler, put a few drops of CBD oil under your tongue and wait a minute for the CBD to be absorbed by the mucous membranes and therefore act on your pain.

By inhalation.

If you prefer the inhalation method, you can absolutely vape CBD with our Deli Pen or our Pax (dry herb vaporizer). By penetrating directly into the bloodstream, the effects will then be felt after a few minutes.

By ingestion.

Another alternative for consuming CBD, you can cook it or consume it in the form of a drink. By this mode of consumption, the effects are therefore longer to be felt because you have to wait for the end of digestion (about one or two hours).

Via the skin.

This mode of consumption is ideal when you want the CBD to act locally, on very specific areas. The absorption rate of the product is however quite low, and requires a higher dosage. In this situation, you have to wait about 1h30 for the product to act.

How long does it take before the CBD is eliminated by the body?

Today it is not really possible to estimate how long CBD will disappear from our body, once again it depends on many criteria. Indeed, among the many factors to take into account, there is the mode of administration but also the weight, the metabolism, or the quality of the product, which also comes into play.

In any case, there is nothing to fear if you have to undergo a drug test after consuming CBD, because the risk of having a positive result for THC is nil. Indeed, CBD-based products marketed in France never contain more than 0.2% THC… you would therefore have to consume a very massive amount of it for it to be detected during screening! Good to know: it is also possible to move towards the extraction of CBD, a very pure product with a very high concentration of CBD, without any trace of THC.
