Relaxing with CBD: How does it work on the body?

CBD Oil Info

CBD, this new trend of 2020

“Well-being” cannabis continues to develop throughout France. There are many benefits of this plant, starting with its action for relaxation. However, it is very hard to draw the true from the false and to really understand the effects of CBD on the human body.

Difficult to navigate between the lack of hindsight on scientific research, demonization of THC, it is not always easy to navigate.

But how to explain the relaxing effect of CBD?

CBD is part of the cannabinoid family, chemicals naturally present in cannabis plants.

We then speak of plant cannabinoids, as opposed to synthetic cannabinoids (created in the laboratory) and endogenous cannabinoids. These are also natural, but secreted by certain animal species, including humans.

Thus, humans are equipped with a so-called endocannabinoid system (SEC), capable of synthesizing and degrading cannabinoids.

Particularly numerous in the body, these molecules play a major role in the functioning of the human body.

They fully assume their role by interacting with the two types of sensors making up the SEC: the CB1 and CB2 sensors.

CB1s are mainly located in the central nervous system and, more anecdotally, in the peripheral nervous system. They intervene in particular at the level of the lungs, the gastrointestinal system and the genitals. CB2s are mainly located within the immune system, including the spleen.

It is therefore thanks to its natural side with certain molecules secreted by the human body that CBD has its relaxing powers on the body.

Relaxation and the relief of certain pains are therefore only the simple result of the interactions between humans and cannabis.

Between stress, anxiety, but also sleep problems: what can CBD relieve?

Thanks to the ECS, cannabinoids act quite strongly on the human body. CBD is not the only one affected, however. It is quite logically systematically compared to THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, the cannabinoid with high effects. In the eyes of European law, THC is therefore considered a narcotic. In France, Belgium and Luxembourg, as in the rest of the EU, any cannabis-derived product is only legal if its THC level is less than 0.2%.

CBD is legal.

By acting above all on the CB1 receptors, THC is certainly euphoric, but also proves to be a natural anticonvulsant.

Relaxation with CBD: pathologies concerned

Thanks to CBD you will be able to find relaxing effects.

Although it cannot be a substitute for drugs in France, the international scientific community is looking closely at many potential benefits.

Among the opportunities for relaxation and relief with CBD, we find:

  • Relaxation in order to sleep better thanks to CBD,
  • The relief thanks to CBD of chronic pain (fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis),
  • The appeasement of psychic pathologies such as anxiety and depression,
  • The relief of skin lesions and skin diseases (acne, psoriasis, eczema),
  • Reduction of neurological disorders (epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, dementia),
  • The relief of intestinal disorders (Crohn’s disease).

Most of the pathologies for which relaxation and relief with CBD are today subjects of study for scientists.

The absence of results by the various governments, as well as the lack of hindsight, nevertheless imply that in Europe in general it is not considered as a medicine.

Even if today mentalities are changing.

What products to use to relieve or relax with CBD?

Today CBD is present in different forms.

In extraction it comes in the form of a fatty substance which can be incorporated into all types of products.

People looking for the relaxation and relief effects of CBD can find it in the form:

  • e-liquid, for example to wean off classic cigarettes,
  • flowers
  • in the cruder form of CBD oils to be applied directly or used in other preparations.
